Our 21/22 U9 teams celebrated a fantastic season on Sunday at MPCC – Maidenbower Park Community Club, culminating in their end-of-season awards. Congratulations and well done to every player involved. Weโre all really excited to see what this group of Players can achieve as they transition to 7-a-side football as U10s in September. On Sunday, Maidenbower Colts FCโs U16s Black Team played in Steyning U16 tournament. Coach Paul said:โOn a very hot day in Steyning. Maidenbower Colts U16s Black Team played a 5 aside tournament. After 7 group games against some really good competition, we managed to qualify in the group to play in the semi-final against Mile Oak. After a tough game and a score of 0-0, it went to Golden Goal still finishing 0-0. So to penalties, and we won โฝ๏ธโฝ๏ธโฝ๏ธ. We played Billinghurst in the final who we had beaten 3-2 in the group stages but after a really hot day and with fatigue setting in we it wasnโt going to be the final we had hoped for and lost 3-0. Great effort from the lads in some really hot conditions and no mean feat coming runners in a competition with some really good teamsโ Team sponsor: DNA Ltd maidenbowercoltsfc #maidenbower #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #footballfamily #youthfootball #proudtobecolts
Yesterday we received news that Maidenbower Colts FC has been nominated for Grassroots Youth Football Club of the Year in the England Football Grassroots Football Awards 22. Entering into the 21/22 season, as we slowly transitioned out of lockdown, it felt like such a hugely important task for us. More than anything we wanted to get back to what we love doing most, playing football. But, we also felt we had a responsibility and an opportunity to help our Players regain some confidence and start to thrive again as they returned to some sort of normality. The fact that weโve received this formal nomination is so humbling and is a genuine milestone of achievement and recognition for our football club and everyone involved. Thank you for your support. Thank you for showing up for training and matches and giving it your all. Thank you for taking the time to get involved in our off-pitch programme of activities and thank you for representing our football club so fantastically well. We are very proud to be Colts! THANK YOU. maidenbowercoltsfc #maidenbower #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #footballfamily #youthfootball #proudtobecolts #wholeclub Sussex County FA England Football

Maidenbower Colts FC U16s Black Team Horsham & District Youth League U16s Plate Final ๐ Ashurst Wood Arrows๐ Horsham Football Club๐ Sunday 1st May 3.50KOโฑ 2 -1โฝ๏ธ Tom – Oli๐ ShayneCoach Paul said:โGreat end to a decent season, having finished 2nd in the HDYL B league, we all headed down to Horsham FC for the U16s Plate Final against an A-league Ashurst Wood Arrows. The game started off slow with most of the possession going Ashurstโs way until a break on goal gave Tom the opportunity to put one in the back of the net, 1-0, giving us the boost we needed to get more possession and relax into the game a bit more.We came out for the 2nd half and Ashurst had stepped up a gear and was really on the fight back and to their credit and persistence got a goal back 1-1. As we got into the final 10mins Rob and I started talking about Extra time tactics and then at 77 mins Oli broke on goal taking a shot that bounced back off their keeper and Oli buried it in the back of the net making the final score 2-1. MOM went to Goalkeeper Shayne who put in a great performance like so many times this season so well deservedโ Team sponsor: DNA Ltd maidenbowercoltsfc #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #youthfootball #proudtobecolts #matchreport #trophy #finals #winners #champions
his morning our U6 Mini-Colts played a series of games against our friends at Crawley & Maidenbower Panthers FC. Fantastic to see how much they enjoyed the opportunity to play in a โlocal derbyโ as they continue to prepare for league football, in the Crawley & District League, as U7s in September. These two teams will meet many, many more times over the years and we are so excited to see how they develop through their grassroots journey. #maidenbowercoltsfc#since1998#grassrootsfootball#proudtobecolts#youthfootball#community#maidenbower#minicoltsโTo find out more about Mini Colts email:minicolts@mcfc1998.com
Last weekend they won their League Cup Final. This weekend they won the U9 Three Bridges Tournament! Coach Keith said:โIn warm conditions, we set about our group games in strong fashion after an opening win. 5 pts after 3 group games left us needing 2 wins to qualify from the group. The Players dug in and got the job done.In the semi-final, we played a strong opposition, but we dominated and got the goal to take us to the final. โFINAL” With nerves kicking in the Players found another level and we won the game. So proud of the team again. The team spirit of this group of Players is amazing.โ maidenbowercoltsfc #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #footballfamily #tournament #proudtobecolts

Huge congratulations to our U9 Red team who won the U9 Crawley & District Youth Football League Knock Out Cup Final today. They got off to a slow start but finally picked up some pace towards to end of the first half, working together as a team to pass the ball up the pitch before getting it into the goal. The team had a rocky start to the season whilst re-establishing themselves as a team and had a drop in confidence before their cup games started but they quickly turned it around, winning all of their cup games to secure a place in the semi-finals and securing a place in today’s final. They regained their confidence, learned to believe in themselves, and believe in each other which has contributed to the teamwork we have seen over the last couple of months. We are beyond proud of them and canโt wait to see what they achieve next season. Well done to the opposition team, who were worthy finalists, for making it to the finals and giving us a good game as always. Best of luck to them for next season. maidenbowercoltsfc #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #FootballFamily #proudtobecolts #cupfinal #trophy

As our SY1 Mini-Colts get ready to become U7โs next season, they had the amazing opportunity to play their first-ever game this afternoon – against Crawley Townโs Mini-Reds at The Peopleโs Pension Stadium! They all played so well and they certainly seemed to enjoy the experience! Thank you to Crawley Town Community Foundation for hosting us. A #shoutout to Caleb, a Colts U12 Player.Caleb spent all his pocket money buying chocolate to sell in order to raise funds for the Red Cross Ukraine Response. When he ran out of chocolate (and pocket money) he wrote to the CEO of Tesco who has hooked him up with plenty of new stock! After training this evening and despite the rain, his teammates and Colts from other age groups all queued up to donate to such a worthy cause in exchange for chocolate – itโs important to refuel post-training ๐Well done Caleb. Sending positive vibes and good wishes to Kieran, one of our U15 Colts, who yesterday managed to break his Clavicle at school! He will be sorely missed by the whole team and will now, unfortunately, will miss the U15โs semi-final and the school nationals. From everyone at Maidenbower Colts FC, we wish Kieran a painless speedy recovery. Iโm sure he will bounce back stronger than before. #maidenbowercoltsfc#footballfamily#shoutout
A group of our U15 Dragons took part in the Horsham League Futsal Tournament yesterday at The Bridge Lesuire Centre, Broadbridge Heath. They won their first tournament and finished equal top on points in the second tournament, but finished up as runners-up based on goal difference!
