Colts suffered a heartbreaking defeat in their top-of-the-table showdown with Marle Place Wanderers.
For the second time this season, Colts were narrowly beaten by the league champions.
As in the first encounter, Colts dominated for long periods with their passing game not only troubling their opponents but also drawing praise from the rival coaching team and supporters.
With Leo and Jack rock solid in defence, Jakub pulling the strings in midfield, and JP a menace up front, Colts could feel extremely unlucky to head into half-time 1-0 down.
Marle Place was then left hanging on in the second half as our boys piled on the pressure. David excelled on the right-wing, while Jayson was also formidable in defence but, somehow, Marle Place survived the onslaught.
Manager Mitch Parratt said:
“I couldn’t be prouder of this team. We have two games remaining – win both and we go up. Every single person was brilliant from the first minute to the last and we were arguably the better team out there. We can hold our heads up high. We go again on Wednesday night, let’s finish the job we started.”
