Maidenbower Colts Football Club started life in March 1998 with a handful of children and a couple of parents, Andy Hains, Jo Capstick, and Rosemary Dixon with who’s money, bought all the kit and equipment needed to start up the club.
The dream was to set up a big football club in Maidenbower for many children but knew that it would take many years to make it happen, however, the handful of kids soon turned into organised age groups of teams, and with the help of enthusiastic parents a successful club.
27 years down the road, Maidenbower Colts F.C. has grown into a very successful and very family-orientated club, with a great committee and dedicated coaches behind it.
The club has the aim of giving all children the chance to play and enjoy football. We are not affiliated with any professional football clubs and we choose not to be.
Children can join as young as five and are under the watchful eye of FA-qualified coaches. Our teams play in the Crawley, Horsham, and Mid-Sussex Leagues, and we welcome players from all areas to join our club.
We are working hard to make your time with us a happy one. Our main priority is the safety and well-being of everyone under the Maidenbower Colts umbrella. Maidenbower Colts FC is an ambitious club that is growing from strength to strength.
Maidenbower Colts are committed to ensuring that respect is part of the game. Players, spectators and club officials are required to follow the club’s code of conduct and be familiar with The FA’s Respect guidelines to ensure players enjoy football in a safe environment.
Maidenbower Colts are proud to hold the England Football Accredited status – A quality guarantee for youth football aiming to raise standards at the grassroots and reward clubs and junior football leagues for their commitment to young player development.
The England Football Accredited status is an FA grading for the club which sets out certain requirements that the club must attain every year to maintain the Charter Standard. This is a form of assurance for you that all the coaches within the club have the correct level of qualifications and CRC checks in place.
