Coach Tom said:
In the semi-final of the CYDL Cup, and with only 7 players available, it was always going to require a massive effort against a strong side.
Both teams started well, with Colts soaking up some early pressure. Kieran struck twice with great finishes against the run of play, while Cody pulled off a few outstanding saves to keep the opposition at bay.
The other team pulled one back just before half-time, gaining momentum heading into the second half. An equaliser followed shortly after the restart. With no substitutes available, Colts began to tire but continued to defend with real determination, showing incredible team spirit.
With five minutes to go, Colts won a free kick. Toby stepped up and somehow found a gap through a crowded box and past the keeper to seal a dramatic finish.
An immense performance all round – every single player gave absolutely everything.
The cup final now awaits.
