In the long anticipated final of the CYDL cup Colts were eager to go one step further than last year.
Colts were outplayed in the first 10 minutes going 2-0 down early on in the match and seemed a bit shellshocked.
With a couple of formation tweaks the team soon got back into the game with some excellent play from Will down the wing who crossed in for Kieran to slot home. ⚽️
Before half time colts got another with some incredible individual play from Cayden who never gave up, found some space and coolly curled to ball into the top corner! ⚽️
The second half was an even affair, the opponent managing to get a goal after some neat play.
With 5 mins left and colts looking like they might fall short in the final again, up steps Louie, taking a free kick and striking it with power and whip into the top corner of the net to level the game and send the crowd wild! ⚽️
The match ended in a 3-3 draw and went to a dreaded penalty shootout.
Colts players being unbelievably calm under pressure with David, Toby and Kieran all finishing well. Cody making fantastic saves in goal and the shootout was won!!! 🏆🏆🏆
The players showed grit, determination, calmness and pride throughout the match and were all ecstatic to get their hands on the cup!
Well done colts!! A fantastic achievement, much deserved after all the hard work put in over the years.

On a personal note, this will be my last game as lead coach for this team after 5 years of coaching them. Could not be prouder of this group of kids, always playing with the right attitude and sportsmanship. Hard working and always wanting to improve. What a way to finish! 🏆👍🏻❤️🖤
