They think it’s all over, it is now!
With great sadness and a lot of pride I write our last ever match report! What a journey it has been for myself and the team over the last decade.
We had a brilliant end to the season, perfect 3G pitch and weather. I rotated players every 15 mins so all 12 outfield players got exactly 75 minutes each.
In the first 5 mins we could have easily been 4 or 5 goals up with Charlie making some great runs into the box. We kept up the pressure and the goals started to come. First one was a great assist by Keir to see Charlie finally find the net after much frustration. Soon after that Kieran provided another assist for Charlie, 2-0 up. Hailsham kept trying but the team were going to finish on a high today.
Captain Kieran was bossing the midfield and provided Jack M with an assist that he took well to put us 3-0 up at half time.
We must half been ruled offside about 15 times, only three of them being actually correct.
We started the second half with equal pressure. Jack M tackling and winning the ball, streaming through the opposition to finish with a great goal.
The question was who would be first to a hattrick, Jack M answered that with another assist from Kieran.
Charlie later returned the favour and assisted Kieran for another goal. We finished 7 up and a clean sheet. It could have easily been well into double figures if not for the linesman.
Congratulations to Mason selected as player of the match.
A fantastic end to the season and the end of the team. It has been my pleasure and privilege to steer this team on their grassroots journey and hope they will always remember the fun they have had.
Proud of you all 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️⚽️
