Dear Parents & Guardians
Firstly, and most importantly we hope you are all safe, well and remain so. It is obviously going to be a tough few months ahead for everyone.
The coronavirus is going to impact every person, every town, every nation and every business around the world.
We, therefore, feel it is important to share some of the steps we are taking at Maidenbower Colts FC to ensure the club can withstand the impact, that wasn’t foreseen or planned for this season.
With the Government stance to avoid large gatherings, postponement of all major and minor league sports, as our previous post stated, we have had to put any club related activities on hold.
As a not for profit organization, we are always doing our very best to minimise costs to you, and therefore the club is run on a tight, ‘no room for eventuality’ budget. Often this means falling short and needing to stretch budgets further in order to bring the very best training and development pathways for your children.
This unforeseeable global situation is going to cause a big financial burden on our club. As you are aware your club fees are paid in advance or monthly to suit your family’s budgets. We do try to keep a reserve of funds towards the end of each season to assist with funding for the Annual Fun Day and new kit fees for the start of the new season. If we don’t receive any revenue, this could be in jeopardy.
Most of your fees are spent on League registration, Kit and winter training facilities. As you may appreciate, these have already been paid for. We have built up attractive credit terms with our suppliers which allows us to pay over the course of the season, and we still have payments that need to be made.
As it stands, our club can only survive until May if we do not receive any revenue. The real risk here is that if payments stop, there genuinely may not be a club to come back to which will have a huge impact within the local community.
So please, if you can afford it, please continue to make your existing payments. Many clubs are struggling to cope, looking at policy changes and constantly talking to their committees on how to move forward. This situation is unprecedented, but we are determined and confident that we will always find ways to return to the pitch, bigger and better than before, with the development and inclusion of your child in this amazing game.
We will give you regular updates as and when necessary and hope that you and your loved ones remain safe and well during this difficult time.
