Maidenbower Colts FC – U7 Red Team
Coach Tom said:
“With the sun shining the players arriving with a spring in their step!
When the whistle blew it was clear that Colts were facing a strong side with some talented players on display. However, Colts held their own and defended valiantly with Toby and Jacob making strong tackles at key points to stop the opposition attack.
Cody starting in goal also keeping the ball out with some sharp reactions.
Eventually the opposition managed to score a goal with an unstoppable strike into the top corner.
In the second half Colts once again were under pressure but showing superb bravery were Nola, Cayden and Parker all putting in a shift and getting stuck in at every opportunity. Harry J in goal Second half coming out well to clear and starting some neat passing play from the back.
Harry B the engine of the team always looking to create down the left, winning a few corners and having some clever shots at goal.
As the game was drawing to an end, Cody took a long throw down the left, which worked it way to striker Will who took a touch and then knocked it past the keeper and finding the back of the net! ⚽️Cue wild celebrations from the Colts players. A much deserved goal for all their hard work and a great way to end the match as the final whistle blew.
Massive improvements shown. A real test of an opponent. Super performances from all the players. Some excellent passing play at times and the shape of the team was kept throughout the majority of the game.
