Can you help inspire the next generation of female footballers?
After welcoming our first girls teams to the club this season, Maidenbower Colts FC are looking for female volunteers who can help inspire the next generation.
Despite the increased interest in girls football, thanks largely to the recent success of the Lionesses, there are still very few women taking up coaching roles at grassroots level.
As well as looking at ways to boost our girls section and offer competitive and recreational football opportunities to as many youngsters as possible, Maidenbower Colts FC also wants to increase the number of women involved in the game and club.
Karen Bowles, Girls Football Lead at Maidenbower Colts FC, said: “The importance of girls having positive female role models in football cannot be overstated. Seeing women taking up coaching and other roles helps girls feel empowered and gives them a sense of belonging within the sport.
“We are working hard to increase opportunities for girls of all ages and experience, and want to ensure that we have strong female leads to help them on their football journey.”
Karen added: “Volunteering at grassroots level is great fun and extremely rewarding, but also offers personal development with opportunities to expand your knowledge and acquire new skills with the club’s full support.”
