Match Report – U14s Black

Maidenbower Colts FC U14s
🆚 East Grinstead Meads
🏟 Imberhorne Lane Recreation Ground, East Grinstead
🗓 27/03/22
⏱ 2-0
⚽️ Haitham Al-Sharjabi / Alex Barton
Manager Stewart said:
“Colts concluded the season with a hard fought victory over East Grinstead Meads on Saturday.
Knowing only a win would ensure they kept out of the bottom two, goals at the end of each half was enough to secure victory.
Colts had a great chance to go ahead inside the first minute but Alex Barton shot wide well placed. A difficult bobbly pitch made passing difficult but Colts managed to edge in front when Jake Nevill found Haitham who volleyed home well from close range.
Colts survived an early scare at the start of the second half when Meads went close but chances for both sides were at a premium. With a couple of minutes remaining though Colts ensures they gained all three points when Alex Barton found himself free in the box and finished emphatically past the Meads keeper.”

#U16s Black

Maidenbower Colts FC U16s Black Team Horsham & District Youth League U16s Plate Final 🆚 Ashurst Wood Arrows🏟 Horsham Football Club🗓 Sunday 1st May 3.50KO⏱ 2 -1⚽️ Tom – Oli🌟 ShayneCoach Paul said:“Great end to a decent season, having finished 2nd in the HDYL B league, we all headed down to Horsham FC for the U16s Plate Final against an A-league Ashurst Wood Arrows. The game started off slow with most of the possession going Ashurst’s way until a break on goal gave Tom the opportunity to put one in the back of the net, 1-0, giving us the boost we needed to get more possession and relax into the game a bit more.We came out for the 2nd half and Ashurst had stepped up a gear and was really on the fight back and to their credit and persistence got a goal back 1-1. As we got into the final 10mins Rob and I started talking about Extra time tactics and then at 77 mins Oli broke on goal taking a shot that bounced back off their keeper and Oli buried it in the back of the net making the final score 2-1. MOM went to Goalkeeper Shayne who put in a great performance like so many times this season so well deserved” Team sponsor: DNA Ltd maidenbowercoltsfc #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #youthfootball #proudtobecolts #matchreport #trophy #finals #winners #champions

Mini Colts

his morning our U6 Mini-Colts played a series of games against our friends at Crawley & Maidenbower Panthers FC. Fantastic to see how much they enjoyed the opportunity to play in a ‘local derby’ as they continue to prepare for league football, in the Crawley & District League, as U7s in September. These two teams will meet many, many more times over the years and we are so excited to see how they develop through their grassroots journey. #maidenbowercoltsfc#since1998#grassrootsfootball#proudtobecolts#youthfootball#community#maidenbower#minicolts’To find out more about Mini Colts email:minicolts@mcfc1998.com

#Shoutouts – U9s Red

Last weekend they won their League Cup Final. This weekend they won the U9 Three Bridges Tournament! Coach Keith said:“In warm conditions, we set about our group games in strong fashion after an opening win. 5 pts after 3 group games left us needing 2 wins to qualify from the group. The Players dug in and got the job done.In the semi-final, we played a strong opposition, but we dominated and got the goal to take us to the final. “FINAL” With nerves kicking in the Players found another level and we won the game. So proud of the team again. The team spirit of this group of Players is amazing.” maidenbowercoltsfc #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #footballfamily #tournament #proudtobecolts

#Shoutouts – U9s Red

Huge congratulations to our U9 Red team who won the U9 Crawley & District Youth Football League Knock Out Cup Final today. They got off to a slow start but finally picked up some pace towards to end of the first half, working together as a team to pass the ball up the pitch before getting it into the goal. The team had a rocky start to the season whilst re-establishing themselves as a team and had a drop in confidence before their cup games started but they quickly turned it around, winning all of their cup games to secure a place in the semi-finals and securing a place in today’s final. They regained their confidence, learned to believe in themselves, and believe in each other which has contributed to the teamwork we have seen over the last couple of months. We are beyond proud of them and can’t wait to see what they achieve next season. Well done to the opposition team, who were worthy finalists, for making it to the finals and giving us a good game as always. Best of luck to them for next season. maidenbowercoltsfc #since1998 #grassrootsfootball #FootballFamily #proudtobecolts #cupfinal #trophy

MiniColts

As our SY1 Mini-Colts get ready to become U7’s next season, they had the amazing opportunity to play their first-ever game this afternoon – against Crawley Town’s Mini-Reds at The People’s Pension Stadium! They all played so well and they certainly seemed to enjoy the experience! Thank you to Crawley Town Community Foundation for hosting us. Well done Mini-Colts, very proud of you! #maidenbowercoltsfc#since1998#grassrootsfootball#youthfootball#proudtobecolts#minicolts

#Shoutouts – Caleb – U12s

A #shoutout to Caleb, a Colts U12 Player.Caleb spent all his pocket money buying chocolate to sell in order to raise funds for the Red Cross Ukraine Response. When he ran out of chocolate (and pocket money) he wrote to the CEO of Tesco who has hooked him up with plenty of new stock! After training this evening and despite the rain, his teammates and Colts from other age groups all queued up to donate to such a worthy cause in exchange for chocolate – it’s important to refuel post-training 😉Well done Caleb. We’re all very proud of you.🇺🇦 ⚽️ 🇺🇦⚽️🇺🇦⚽️🇺🇦⚽️🇺🇦⚽️🇺🇦⚽️🇺🇦⚽️🇺🇦⚽️ maidenbowercoltsfc #FootballStandsTogether #redcross #ukraine #Tesco TescoBritish Red Cross

An additional well done to Thomas who has grown so much in confidence over the last year and I could really see that in his performance today.
