Maidenbower Colts FC U12 White (23/24)
After many weeks of behind the scenes work, Maidenbower Colts FC is extremely proud to announce the formation of our first-ever all girls team!
In our 25th anniversary year, this is a historic moment for our club, and we couldn’t be more delighted to welcome these talented young players and their coaching team to our football family.
Lead Coach Karen Bowles, Coach Claire Butters and Assistant Coach Catherine Connelly will be joined by 16 players. For the 23/24 season, they will play as U12s in the Sussex County Womens & Girls Football League.
On behalf of the club, Richie said:
“Following the establishment of our England Football Disability Recreation Centre and Pan Disability Sessions, the addition of a girls’ team reflects our continued and evolving commitment to providing equal opportunities for all young people in our community. We believe that every child should have access to good quality, supportive, and inclusive football, and we are thrilled to expand our offerings to include girls.
Our new team, Maidenbower Colts FC U12 White, will be comprised of girls currently in School Year 5 and 6, and we have already received an incredible response from their families who are excited to see this new opportunity for their daughters. We are proud to offer a safe and supportive environment for young girls to learn and grow as youth footballers and as individuals.
At Maidenbower Colts FC, we believe that grassroots, youth football is about more than just winning or losing – it’s about building a sense of community, learning new skills, and developing lifelong friendships. We are excited to see our girls’ team thrive and can’t wait to watch them achieve their goals on and off the pitch.
Thank you to Coach Karen for choosing Maidenbower Colts FC and to the committee for all their efforts to make this happen. “
Coach Karen said:
“We are all really excited to be joining Maidenbower Colts FC and bringing the first all girls team to the club.
Being part of Maidenbower Colts FC gives our girls so many opportunities – not only to develop their football skills with the fantastic support of the club, but to be part of a football family and all that offers both on and off the pitch”
All at Maidenbower Colts FC wish to extend a warm welcome to all of the girls and families who have joined our football family, and we look forward to building a strong, inclusive, and diverse girls section that reflects the values of our club.
