Code of Conduct:
Parents/Guardians & Spectators
Parents/spectators have a great influence on a player’s enjoyment and success in football. Our players play football because they first and foremost love the game – it’s fun. It is important to remember that however good a player becomes at football within our Club it is important to reinforce this message to parents/spectators that positive encouragement will contribute to:
Players enjoying football.
A sense of personal achievement.
Self-esteem.
Improving the player’s skills and techniques.
A parents/spectators expectations and attitudes have a significant bearing on a player’s attitude towards:
Other players.
Officials.
Managers.
Spectators.
As a parent/spectator within our Club please ensure you are always positive and encouraging towards all of the players, not just the player you have come to watch. Please offer encouragement and never criticism.
Our parents/spectators are requested to:
Applaud the opposition as well as our own team. Appreciate good play from whatever team it comes from.
Avoid coaching any player during the game.
Do not shout or scream.
Respect the Referees decision, even when you don’t agree with them.
Give attention to each of the players involved in football, not just the most talented.
Give encouragement to everyone who participates in football. Applaud effort and good play as well as success.
Remain behind the touchline and within the Designated Spectators Area (where provided).
Let the coach do their job and not confuse the players by telling them what to do.
Encourage the players to respect the opposition, referee and match officials.
Never engage in, or tolerate offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour.
All parents/spectators within our Club are requested to adhere to this Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.
I understand that if I do not follow the code, any/all of the following activities may be taken by my club, county FA or the FA:
I may be:
Issued with a verbal warning from a club or league official.
Required to meet with the club, league or CFA Welfare Officer.
Required to meet with the club Committee.
Obliged to undertake an FA education course.
Obliged to leave the match venue by the club.
Requested by the club not to attend future games.
Suspended or have my club membership removed.
Required to leave the club along with my dependents.
In addition:
The FA/county FA could impose a fine and/or suspension on the club.
