Always play to the best of my ability and for the benefit of the team.
Play fairly – I won’t cheat, dive, complain, or waste time.
Respect my teammates, the other team, the referee, and my coach/team manager.
Understand that a coach/team manager has to do what is best for the team and not one individual player.
Talk to someone I trust or the club Welfare Officer if I’m unhappy about anything at my club.
Obligations towards the Game
The Player should:
Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina.
Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if his team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved.
Set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.
Avoid all forms of Gamesmanship and time-wasting.
Show all due respect to Match Officials and others involved in the game.
Always have regard for the best interests of the game, including when publicly expressing an opinion of the game and any particular aspect of it, including others involved in the game.
Do not use or tolerate inappropriate language.
Obligations towards one’s own Team
The Player should:
Make every effort consistent with Fair Play and the Laws of the Game to help his own team win.
Resist any influence which might, or might be seen to, bring into question his commitment to the team winning.
Show respect for the Laws of the Game and competition rules.
Listen and respond to what my coach/team manager tells me.
Obligations for the Players’ own well-being
The Player should:
Know and abide by the Laws, rules, and spirit of the game and the competition rules.
Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.
Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned substances.
Respect towards Opponents
The Player should:
Treat opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.
Safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents.
Be gracious in victory and defeat – I will shake hands with the other team and referee at the end of the game.
Respect towards Match and Team Officials
The Player should:
Accept the decision of the Match Official without protest.
Avoid words or actions which may mislead a Match Official.
Show due respect towards Match Officials.
Abide by the instruction of their Coach and Team Officials provided they do not contradict the spirit of the code.
Show due respect towards Team Officials of the opposition.
Obligations towards the Supporters
The Player should:
Show due respect to the interests of the Supporters.
I understand that if I do not follow the code, any/all of the following activities may be taken by my club, county FA or the FA:
I may be:
Required to apologise to my teammates, the other team, the referee or the team manager.
Receive a formal warning from the coach/team manager or the club committee.
Be dropped or substituted.
Be suspended from training/playing games.
Be required to leave the club.
In addition:
My club, county FA or The FA may make my parent or carer aware of any infringements of the Code of Conduct.
My Club may pass on any fine or charge for payment.
The FA/County FA could impose a fine and/or suspension against my club.
